In the 27th edition of ARTNOBEL Inspiration Review of Contemporary Art, we dedicate our cover story to Ella Fontanals-Cisneros, one of the most influential figures in contemporary art collecting and cultural philanthropy. Ella Fontanals-Cisneros occupies a unique position within the international collecting landscape thanks to both the breadth of her collections and the institutional framework she has built around contemporary art. Her practice extends far beyond a single collection, encompassing a complex ecosystem that includes the Ella Fontanals-Cisneros Collection, the CIFO Collection, and institutional initiatives such as Miami Art Central (MAC), founded in December 2003 as a pioneering venue for exhibitions, dialogue, and the production of contemporary artistic discourse in Miami.
Rather than viewing collecting as a private or purely accumulative endeavor, she has developed a dynamic structure that connects artworks, artists, and institutions within a continuous exchange.
