The talented Valencian artist Rebeca Plana arrives at the Palau Joan de Valeriola with an exhibition entitled “Untdelemn”, curated by Álvaro Alcázar, which reflects the painter’s journey towards maturity through 60 works, most of them created specifically for this project.
Rebeca Plana’s distinctive style is characterized by a refined abstraction and a subtle color palette. Her strokes are energetic, dynamic and expressive, revealing a unique combination of premeditation and improvisation.
The title of the exhibition, “Untdelem”, which comes from ancient Romanian, refers to oil. For Rebeca Plana, this word becomes a powerful metaphor: “Painting from the soul”, where “painting not only calms and heals, but also activates the nervous system”. The exhibition coincides with the tenth anniversary of a previous key exhibition for the artist and presents works that reflect her vital stage marked by biological and mental maturity, as well as personal overcoming. It is also a dialogue between different art forms, such as music, literature and sculpture, which converge in Plana’s works, enriching their meaning and depth.
The exhibition “Untdelemn” is organized and produced by the Chirivella Soriano Foundation and the Consortium of Museums of the Valencian Community. From April 19 to June 23, 2024 will be open to the public at the Palau Joan de Valeriola. It is an opportunity to immerse yourself in the creative soul of Rebeca Plana.
