ARCOlisboa, the international contemporary art fair organized by IFEMA MADRID and the Câmara Municipal de Lisboa, will celebrate its eighth edition from May 29 to June 1, 2025, at the historic Cordoaria Nacional in Lisbon. This event will once again position the Portuguese capital as one of the most vibrant centers of art and culture in Europe, bringing together collectors, gallery owners, artists, and professionals from all over the world.
With the participation of 82 galleries from 17 countries, ARCOlisboa 2025 will offer a unique opportunity to explore the Portuguese art scene in a global dialogue, featuring the works of Spanish and European artists. The fair will be organized into three key areas: the General Program, with 61 galleries, and the curated sections Opening Lisboa (16 galleries) and As Formas do Oceano (5 galleries). The General Section of ARCOlisboa 2025 grows in this edition, incorporating new galleries such as Travesía Cuatro and Set Espai d’Art, alongside returning galleries like Nuno Centeno and Fonseca Macedo. In this context, SOLO projects will dive deeper into the works of international artists such as **Karlo Andrei Ibarra, Amélie Esterházy and Miki Leal, offering a unique and updated perspective on contemporary art.
Exploring New Proposals in “Opening Lisboa
The Opening Lisboa section is focused on exploring new artistic languages and spaces, and in 2025, it will present fresh proposals from 16 galleries, including 4710 Gallery, Beta Contemporary, and Salgadeiras. Curated by Sofía Lanusse and Diogo Pinto, this section will offer a diverse and dynamic vision of contemporary art, featuring galleries from around the world.
Reflections on Art and Global Relationships
The As Formas do Oceano section, curated by Paula Nascimento and Igor Simões, will explore the relationships between Africa and its diaspora. It will present projects from galleries in Morocco, South Africa, Brazil, and Spain, addressing themes of identity, history, and global cultural connections.
An International Meeting of Thinkers and Creators
ARCOlisboa 2025 will not only be an art fair but also a meeting point for thinkers, editors, and creators. ArtsLibris, the space dedicated to contemporary art publications, will feature a range of national and international exhibitors and will host the ArtsLibris Speakers Corner, where relevant topics in contemporary art will be discussed. Additionally, the Millennium Art Talks will provide a key space for debating the latest trends in art.
Cultural Impact in Lisbon
Lisbon, in the midst of an artistic boom, will serve as the backdrop for this vibrant art fair.
