Fortnite, developed by Epic Games, undoubtedly stands as one of the most influential games in the entire industry. Any innovation within the game not only impacts other titles but also serves as a new tool to unleash the creativity of Fortnite’s user base. During the recent Game Developers Conference (GDC), Epic Games shared details about upcoming updates for the Unreal Editor, specifically highlighting a new addition for Fortnite: a first-person mode.

In their presentation, Epic briefly showcased the first-person mode. Attendees got a glimpse of how different this new mode will be compared to the current weapons that offer a similar perspective. Epic acknowledged that the demand for a first-person mode has persisted for quite some time. They also shared impressive numbers related to Unreal Editor for Fortnite: over 80,000 experiences have been created using the tool, played by more than 130 million people.

Apart from the first-person mode, Epic revealed other additions coming to the editor, which will also be available for the latest experiences added to Fortnite:

  1. Rocket Racing Mode: Players can use Fall Guys characters on custom obstacle tracks.
  2. LEGO Fortnite: Introduces the ability to create mini-games.
  3. Proximity Chat: Enhances communication within the game.
  4. Improved Graphics: Support for more photorealistic visuals.

While these options are currently for the Unreal Editor, it’s possible that Epic may eventually incorporate them directly into the game itself. Epic hasn’t provided specific release dates for these features, but they’ve hinted at their arrival sometime this year. Additionally, the studio announced that in 2025, they will launch new seasons of the game developed using Unreal Editor for Fortnite.

So, whether you’re building, battling, or exploring, let the winds of creativity guide you in the ever-evolving world of Fortnite! 🗡️🌟
