The Hybrid Art Fair is gearing up for its ninth edition in the heart of Madrid, and surprises are just around the corner. If you are a fan of experimental art, unique installations, and groundbreaking proposals, get ready to be part of an experience that only Hybrid can offer.
DISPLACED and JACUZZI are shaping up to be the major highlights of 2025, with their selections designed to push us to explore art from new perspectives. This year, the fair challenges the conventional and immerses us in a space where the boundaries between the real, the ephemeral, and the sensory blur.
DISPLACED: Ephemeral Art in Transit
Imagine encountering installations that are born and disappear before your eyes, works created from light, found objects, and fleeting sounds that completely transform the space. In the seventh edition of DISPLACED, 12 artists, including Samuel de Sagas, Gastón Lisak, and the BASC Collective, explore the hidden realities behind the tourism industry and the complex processes of urban space transformation.
A standout proposal from the BASC Collective, From the Masses to Invisibility, blends social criticism of mass tourism with art, inviting us to reflect on luxury and comfort while questioning our relationship with service and leisure in a globalized world.
JACUZZI: A Dive into the Performative
In 2025, JACUZZI makes its debut as the fair’s major novelty, creating a space for performative art to shine. Six artists and collectives such as Saruris / Sara Gema, Las Densas, and Cía Traspasarte will provoke, surprise, and challenge through a series of interventions that disrupt the hotel’s space, the body, and the mind. From irreverent humor to deep critique, each performance will be an emotional explosion that will leave you breathless.
For the Love of Art by Saruris is an ode to the emotional connection between artist and artwork. Meanwhile, Caber o no caber by Las Densas invites us to question the concept of non-canonized bodies in an act that celebrates bodily diversity and dissidence. Lastly, The Overthinking Mermaids by Cía Traspasarte provides the perfect space for feminist reflection on creativity and economic independence, in true Virginia Woolf style.
The Petit Palace Santa Bárbara Hotel will transform from March 6 to 9 into an art space, with its rooms and hallways becoming your gallery, stage, and sensory laboratory. A place where every corner turns into an immersive artwork, making your stay a total experience.
Whether you are a collector, a contemporary art enthusiast, or someone seeking a different experience, Hybrid Art Fair is the event you cannot miss. With 41 exhibitors from 12 countries, the fair continues to solidify its position as the perfect springboard for emerging and mid-career artists.
